We meet Captain Jack, Thailand's happiest immigration officer, and the flying doctor who has his patients in stitches. But not everyone's laughing - Britpacker John escapes death by a whisker, Matt is stranded without a ticket, and Paul can't find his gate after one too many drinks in departures. While the tourist police have fun on their new Segways, will Alicia and Georgia survive Thailand without the Bank of Dad?

We meet Bay, the superstar of VAT refunds, and Dr Geng, the airport doctor with his very own fan club. Competition hots up for the airport's annual awards, but not every customer is satisfied - Britpackers Cosmos and Harry can't get a flight back to London, Ally's stuck in baggage reclaim, and Aussie teenager Will is left high and dry after a night out in Bangkok.

We meet Captain A, the airport's bossiest immigration officer, who fights a one-woman war on queue jumping. A Buddhist monk loses his sister, a Geordie loses his juggling stick and a young mum loses her temper when she's turned away from her flight. A French tourist faces deportation. And is the customs office really haunted?

It's Valentine's Day at the airport - romance blossoms for immigration officers Bert and Nat, Captain Jack shares the secrets of a successful marriage and there are free hugs for every passenger. Justin jets in for cosmetic surgery to perk up his love life, Liverpudlian Nathan introduces his parents to his new Thai boyfriend and a distraught Swiss traveller is stood up by his internet girlfriend.

What is it like to be stranded at Bangkok Airport? Darren from London has his passport pinched, and British Afghan veteran John is down to his last 20 pence - till the tourist police step in. A panic attack grounds a young Aussie tourist in departures, a Swedish backpacker is savaged by a dog, and concern grows for the safety of a young Indian traveller.

An unhappy tourist tries to strangle an airport official, and a Full Moon party goes wrong for two young British girls. The English Thai boxing team flies in, hoping to beat the Thais at their own game. As political unrest sweeps the country, Captain Jack, the happiest man in the immigration department, finally stops smiling.
