[edit] Information

The family of bears comprises some of the world's largest meat eaters. With several hundred pounds of fur, claws, teeth, and torso, it's no wonder the bear has spawned countless legends and mysteries. Powerful, keen of smell, and able to run, climb and swim, some bears can be terrifying predators. Yet bears are versatile, and those that live in the forests have adapted to a largely vegetarian diet. Even the massive grizzly uses its sharp eyesight mainly to distinguish between ripe and unripe berries. Track the bear's ancestry, and follow filmmakers - carefully - straight into bear country to meet the eight highly adaptable species if bears.
