Border Wars: Season 1 National Geographic goes inside the world of U.S. Customs and Border Protection for an unprecedented look at their efforts to prevent illegal immigration and drug smuggling along the U.S.-Mexico border. Officer Hector Navarro stops a silver pickup truck at the Nogales port of entry. When suspicion prompts a canine sniff for narcotics a cleverly hidden trove of heroin is uncovered - breaking an all-time record for drug busts at this port of entry.

A special undercover group shuts down a house in Nogales, the quarters of suspected illegal immigrants. The agents are faced with the challenge of singling out the human smugglers, or "coyotes," and getting these suspected criminals off the streets.
