[edit] Information

Brits Behind Bars ITV looks at how the holiday dreams of thousands of Brits are turning to nightmares as they are arrested and end up in foreign jails. Record numbers of British people are travelling abroad for business and pleasure. Huge numbers of them are ending up in jails in places where legal rights and the criminal justice system are tough, and terrifying. About five and a half thousand Brits are arrested abroad every year. Brits Behind Bars, from the award winning documentary makers Wild Pictures, follows the stories of three people whose lives were changed drastically when they decided to fly abroad. With unique access to jails in Florida and the Caribbean, the programme makers filmed moving testimonies from those who have been convicted, and are horrified to discover the price they have to pay.
