[edit] Information

Hundreds of young men have been deported from the United Kingdom to Afghanistan. They are amongst thousands who arrived in the UK as unaccompanied children, fleeing their war torn country. Instead of been granted asylum, the UK government offers them a temporary life, many with foster families. But as their childhood ends, so does their right to stay in the UK. At 18 they have to re-apply for asylum or risk being deported back to Afghanistan. For Our World Chris Rogers has followed some of the young men, and their foster parents, who claim their deportation would be inhumane and the UK is now their home. And he travels to Kabul and gathers unique evidence of what happens to those already sent back.
