[edit] Information

Flying legends at Duxford is one of the world's greatest air shows, featuring the very best Warbird pilots flying some of the most famous aircraft in aviation history.

The ‘new boys' this year were both from The Fighter Collection - a beautifully restored Curtiss Hawk 75A-1, flown ferociously by Stephen Grey, and the P-51C Mustang Princess Elizabeth, which took part in a very close two-ship formation. A unique visitor was the Saab B-17 (the last surviving Swedish-built wartime dive bomber) while making a welcome reappearance was Bernard Chabbert's gorgeous Lockheed 12 Electra.

Other highlights included eight Spitfires taking part in a spectacular tail chase with two Hurricanes representing the other Battle of Britain hero; two Corsairs flying with a Skyraider and Sea Fury - and two Boeing B-17s and two B-25s flying a very rare formation.

And finally because it was the official VE Day commemoration Weekend - on Sunday afternoon the crowd were treated to the breathtaking sight of the London Flypast taking off From Duxford to salute the fallen from 60 years ago.

Of course, DD's cameras were there to film the whole two days event in glorious widescreen and digital stereo, with cockpit minicams to give you a real pilot's eye view and exclusive interviews with the Warbirds pilots. An amazing souvenir of an unforgettable air show !
