[edit] Information

Food Unwrapped Special: Christmas Dinner As you sit down on Christmas Day at a table groaning with festive goodies, what do you ask yourself? Why don’t chickens grow as big as a turkey, perhaps? Did the Three Wise Men know that they could have eaten the frankincense? How does farmed salmon go from being a rather unappealing shade of grey to that enticingly pink colour? Over the past 12 months, Jimmy Doherty, Kate Quilton and Matt Tebbutt have been travelling the globe exploring popular festive food. Why is farmed salmon pink? Can a chicken be grown as big as a turkey? Is the gold in alcoholic drinks real? To find the answers to these questions and more, the trio head to Norway, the US, Oman, Germany and France, visiting the factories, farmers and producers who make the ingredients for popular Christmas food.
