Ben Fogle meets people who have given up the rat race to start a new life in remote parts of the world.

[edit] 1. North Cascades, Washington State

Ben journeys to the USA's Pacific Northwest to live with British born Lynx Vilden, a real-life Stone Age woman. A former wild-child, now 50, Lynx has spent more than half her life living, hunting, eating and sleeping in the wilderness.

[edit] 2. Ruaha National Park Tanzania

Yorkshire born Moli and his Californian wife Noelle left city life behind to set up their own business as wildlife safari guides in the unexplored Ruaha National Park in Tanzania.

[edit] 3. Gadacs Hungary

Ben joins a couple at the start of their 'new lives in the wild' in a two-room derelict farmhouse in rural Hungary that they bought from the internet without ever having visited the country before.

[edit] 4. Selkirk Mountains, British Columia

Ben joins a couple who gave up successful careers as journalists in Europe for a new life as grizzly bear guides in a remote mountain valley lodge in Canada.

[edit] 5. Ibiza

Away from the busy resorts of Ibiza is a side of this popular Mediterranean island that the partying holidaymakers have no idea exists.

[edit] 6. Khatgal, Outer Mongolia

Ben meets Micky and Trina Cofer, who along with their four children, left behind the comforts of America and become missionaries in the freezing tundra of Outer Mongolia.

[edit] 7. Appalachian Mountains, North Carolina

Ben travels to a secret location in the Appalachian mountains of North America, to live with forest dweller Tod Kershaw and his own wild community, who are fiercely protective of their privacy. His host, a former engineer, lives by his own rules in a thatched bark hut in a hillside forest in Madison County, North Carolina, eating whatever he can forage. Ben Fogle finds out why Tod decided to strip away the comforts of contemporary life and live outside modern society.

[edit] 8. Atlas Mountains, Morocco

Dina Zughyar and Mostafa Jabbour turned their back on the American Dream to start from scratch with a handful of rabbits and chickens on a small patch of barren land in the shadow of the Atlas Mountains. In their mud house in Morocco, the Kentucky couple confess to Ben Fogle that it has been much harder than they thought.
