Dive into JEAN-MICHEL COUSTEAU: OCEAN ADVENTURES! Join Peabody and Emmy Award-winning Jean-Michel Cousteau and his acclaimed diving team as they explore a thrilling array of natural phenomena, investigate little known territories and ecosystems hundreds of feet beneath the ocean's surface, and come face to face with the friendly and ferocious inhabitants of the deep in each episode of OCEAN ADVENTURES. Through Jean-Michel's observations, the series illuminates the great need for better understanding and sustainable management of the oceans' rich natural treasures. RETURN TO THE AMAZON PARTS 1 AND 2 The Amazon: The most powerful of the world's rivers. Emptying into the great Atlantic Ocean, it flows through the largest tropical rainforest, the vast, natural theater where evolution has gone wild, creating the greatest biodiversity of any area on the planet. Twenty-five years ago, Peabody and Emmy Award winning explorer Jean-Michel traveled this fabled region with his father, the legendary Jacques Cousteau. Since then an area the size of Texas has been deforested. From this region of urgency and conflict, where human enterprise and expansion not only compronise the health and ecology of the river and rainforest basin, but truly inflict consequences on a global scale, come new beacons of hope and sustainability. The fight for the future of the Amazon and its people is underway. With an intimate look at recent changes, Jean-Michel, along with his children, Celine and Fabien, and the Ocean Adventures team, return with a new expedition on land and under water, and discover a beautiful world of debilitating challenges and uplifting solutions. A co-production of KQED Public Television and Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ocean Futures Society for PBS and Granada International
