[edit] Information

Race Across the World: Series 1 Our five pairs set off on a race to Singapore without taking a single flight. They will leave behind their smartphone, internet access and credit cards, and will be armed with only the cash equivalent of a one-way airfare to Singapore, the furthest destination by land and rail from the UK,

[edit] Delphi

The teams set off from Greenwich. They must pass through five checkpoints to reach their final destination. First up: the ancient city of Delphi.

[edit] Baku

The five teams head out of Delphi to their next checkpoint - Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan - a journey that sees them leave behind the familiarity of the west.

[edit] Uzbekistan

As five teams become four, they are more focused than ever on reaching Singapore. They journey across the deserts, mountains and Silk Road cities of Central Asia to Uzbekistan.

[edit] China

The four remaining teams enter the People’s Republic of China. After nearly a month on the road together, budgets are running low and emotions are high.

[edit] Cambodia and Vietnam.

In the penultimate leg of their journey, the remaining four teams head through the dense forests and bustling metropolises of Cambodia and Vietnam.

[edit] Singapore

After 12,000 miles, two continents, 21 countries and four seas, the finish line is in sight as our four teams complete the final leg of the Race Across the World.
This gruelling race has taken the travellers to far-flung places, through deserts, mountains and island paradises, giving them the opportunity to experience incredible adventures, immerse themselves in different cultures, make lasting connections and often be overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers.
