The Repair Shop: Series 1 The Repair Shop is a workshop of dreams, where broken or damaged cherished family heirlooms are brought back to life. Furniture restorers, horologists, metal workers, ceramicists, upholsterers and all manner of skilled craftsmen and women have been brought together to work in one extraordinary space, restoring much-loved possessions to their former glory. Many of these items have incredible stories behind them and a unique place in history.

A team of experts tries to restore family heirlooms and treasured possessions to their former glory, beginning with a clock, a carving of a flying fish and an accordion.

[edit] Vintage Telephone

Jay Blades and Will Kirk restore a piano stool, clock restoration expert Steve works on a vintage telephone and antique projector specialist Richard Rigby enlivens a magic lantern.

[edit] Dr who Daleks

Jay Blades and Will Kirk restore a prized Davenport desk which was damaged by burglars, and Steve Fletcher tackles a tricky time-travelling conundrum. Vintage electronics expert Neil Fairly battles some ageing Dr Who Daleks.

A firefighting historian Stuart Black restores an antique helmet, a Victorian garden gnome is returned to its original condition and a treasured musical box is mended

Ceramicist Kirsten Ramsey works on putting a shattered vase by Jean Lurcat, a contemporary of Picasso's, back together again. An Italian chair and a jewellery box are also restored.

The experts take on the challenges of restoring three cherished family heirlooms, bringing back to life a painting, a ceramic plaque and a Japanese lacquered jewellery box.

The team restores two Royal Worcester vases that are precious family heirlooms, along with a Cirencester village clock and a 19th-century hay press.

[edit] Wurlitzer Jukebox

The team work together to restore a clapping monkey toy, an ornate Victorian travelling treasure box, and an iconic 1950s Wurlitzer jukebox.

[edit] Grandfather Clock

Restorers get to work on a grandfather clock, hoping to make it chime again, and doctors perform surgery on a teddy bear with only one ear and one arm after a run-in with a puppy.

[edit] Ceramic Bulldog

A 100-year-old Nordic rocking chair that its owner's grandparents were given on their wedding day is restored. A mother of pearl shell and a ceramic bulldog are also redeemed.

The experts take on the challenges of restoring three cherished family heirlooms, bringing back to life a Victorian cuckoo clock, a 1970s bowl and a 200-year-old sea chest.

Painting conservator Lucia Scalisi faces a serious challenge when presented with a perforated painting by celebrated British artist Fred Appleyard.

The team restore an Cornish museum sign, an old banger boat, and Julie and Amanda repair a special teddy bear that has lost one of his eyes.

[edit] Pinball Machine

A barometer, rowing oars that could have a hidden past and a pinball machine that has spent the last few years being used as a kitchen worktop are restored.

[edit] Toy Boat

A toy boat, a vintage gramophone and a doll suffering the effects of years of love and affection are restored by the experts.
