[edit] Information

Wicked Tuna Season 1 Fishing is a hard life, and harder with bluefin stocks depleted. In Gloucester, Massachusetts, there’s a special breed of fishermen. For generations they’ve used rod and reel to catch the elusive bluefin tuna. They depend on these fish for their livelihood, and the competition is brutal. Over the next 10 weeks, the most skilled fishermen will set out in the frigid waters of the North Atlantic in hopes of catching the valuable bluefin tuna. When one bluefin can bring in as much as $20,000—they’ll do whatever it takes to hook up.

[edit] The Bite Is On

Meet the fleet, as peak season begins and the adrenaline rush of “monstah” hunting hits Gloucester. We enter mid-season, but this is when the money is made and tempers run hot. Each captain loads his boat with three thousand dollars worth of fuel, bait, and ice, and heads off for open water where the blue gold is waiting. But it doesn’t take long for things to sour when there’s cash on the line. Part gamblers, part master fishermen, part maniacs, these captains lay everything on the line and aren’t above sabotaging rivals, for the chance to hook a 500 kg Blue Fin Tuna worth $20,000.

[edit] Paybacks a Fish

After going bust on his last trip, Dave Marciano of Hard Merchandise reels in a $10,000 fish. Meanwhile, the Bounty Hunter crew purposely mislead the Tuna.com guys as payback for Dave’s fictitious advice that cost them time and money. Bill and Ralph team up for revenge on Dave, convincing him the fish are in a spot they’re not. It’s payback for the wild goose chase he sent Bill on and the beginning of a pact between old friends.

[edit] Weekend Warrior

The Tuna.com crew continue their lucky streak, catching two fish in one day. Meanwhile, with debts piling up, Bill of Bounty Hunter starts to get desperate for a catch. While Bill’s debts pile up and the rest of the fleet struggle to even find a spot to fish between the weekend fishermen, Tuna.com continues its winning streak, snagging two fish in one day

[edit] Size Matters

An 1100-pound fish is reeled in by the crew of the Christina, prompting a competitive Dave to put Tuna.com into overdrive to catch up. Meanwhile, Marciano takes out a charter tour in an effort to pay off his accumulating debt. Newcomer Kevin snags a 500kg “monstah” right out of the gate. The biggest catch of the season, it’s the talk of the town. But other boats are doing it tough in a tight economy with no help in sight.

[edit] Greed Ego and Jealousy

After a series of near misses, Capt. Ralph Wilkins of the Odysea finally tracks down some fish, but then, a distress call from a boat with engine trouble forces him to make a tough decision.

[edit] Man v Storm

With an intense storm bearing down, only a few are brave enough to risk their lives at sea. But will they win the battle against Mother Nature and land a monster or succumb to her powerful ways?

[edit] Mutiny at Sea

Tensions erupt on Tuna.com when Capt. Dave and Paul get into a heated confrontation that prompts Paul to quit. On the Bounty Hunter, an unsuccessful year forces Capt. Bill’s wife to return to a job on land, leaving him shorthanded.

[edit] Grudge Match

With only two weeks left until the end of the season, Paul Hebert, formerly of Tuna.com, joins the Bounty Hunter crew. On the Hard Merchandise, Jay Meunzner, the first mate, struggles to prove his worth.

[edit] Pirate Problems

A hard season takes its toll on the crew of the Odysea, leading Capt. Ralph to lash out at his first mate, Pirate. On the Bounty Hunter, first mate Paul struggles to prove his worth to his new captain.

[edit] Good to the Last Bite

With winter approaching, the fishermen reel in their final catches of the year in the Season 1 finale. On Tuna.com, Capt. Dave tries to land what may be the biggest fish of the year.
