From dusk until dawn it's searching in the dark sky - a silent, winged Phantom with extraordinary hunting methods. Owls can hear the squeeks for mice from far distances. A silent rustling of their prey makes them change their flight and strike with astonishing precision. National Geographic accompanies filmer Fergus Beeley on his exciting adventure on the tracks of this bird of prey, fascination him since childhood. From the owls hunting in the crocodile-infested rivers of south Africa to the perfectly camouflaged Snow-Owls, which breed on the ground and withstand the icy cold of north Alaska. With help of infrared cameras and other techniques we optain unprecedented and rare impressions into the amazing abilities of these hidden hunters.
