[edit] Information

-- Also aired with title 'Hitler's Lost Battleship' -- After battling in late 1939 with British cruisers off the coast of Uruguay, Hitler's prized "pocket battleship" and high-tech wonder, the Admiral Graf Spee was blown up by its own captain, Hans Langsdorff. Denounced by the Nazi regime, Langsdorff commits suicide shortly thereafter. National Geographic Channel reconstructs the first naval battle of World War II and retraces the events that led to the Graf Spee's ultimate destruction. Along with high-end re-enactments, CGI reconstructions made after original plans from the Third Reich's secret archives, and surprising findings by naval researchers shed light into this mystery. Film Produktion Stein e.K. with the Participation of men@work Film Production for ZDF and National Geographic Channel
