Inside the Forest Seasons of Wonder: Series 1 Filmed over one year, this four-part series reveals the spectacular beauty of England's largest forest, Kielder, as it changes through the seasons. This series takes viewers inside this stunning and underappreciated part of the British countryside, revealing the secrets of the forest.

Cameras capture the various wildlife residing in England’s most vast forest, including roe deer, red squirrels and more, as changes occur throughout the seasons. The ospreys return in the spring, while hibernating animals wake from the long sleep.

Its summertime in Kielder Forest, the sound of buzzing insects filling the air and all wildlife facing a race to make the most of the sunshine. The Kielder forest’s famous orchids come into full bloom in the summer

Despite its rich biodiversity, Kielder Forest didn't exist a century ago. It was created to help provide the country with timber and has evolved to become a wildlife refuge. The squirrels prepare their food stores and the osprey search for warmer climates in the autumn.

Its winter in Kielder Forest, a time when the harsh beauty of frost and snow grips the landscape as wildlife battles to survive; some creatures sleep through the season. The Kielder forest’s bodies of water freeze over in the winter, while the timber industry experiences a boon.
