[edit] Information

When 16 Sherpas were killed by an avalanche this spring, it was the worst mountaineering accident Mount Everest had ever seen. Everest holds deep spiritual significance to many in the Sherpa community, but now they fear the rapidly growing commercialisation of the very mountain on which they depend. For Our World, Navin Singh Khadka, travels to remote villages around the mountain, to talk to families and community leaders trying to resolve the growing tensions within Sherpa society.
