[edit] Information

The Lion Queens of India is a 2015, four-part, documentary miniseries aired on the US television channel Animal Planet. The documentary tells the story of a group of women foresters who work on rescuing animals in Gir National Park. In 2007 Gujarat became the first Indian state to employ women in its forest department, with a 33% quota. Although the initial idea was to place women in clerical and office roles, the women wanted to work in the field. In 2016 there were 46 women on the rescue team. They manage over 100 species and over 1,000 crocodiles, and conduct about two rescues a day. They are the only all-woman team that manages big cat wildlife anywhere in the world. They must also pursue and catch poachers.

[edit] SOS

The Rescue Centre at Gir has received an SOS. There is an injured lion cub stuck in a mango orchard. Raseela must capture it and bring it back to the rescue centre for treatment. But the cub's mother and her entire pride is lurking in the area.

[edit] Alone in the Bush

Raseela is attempting to capture an injured lioness and her three cubs. It's night -time and things go horribly wrong. As the lioness is captured, her cubs are left outside in the bush.

[edit] Face to Face with Danger

Raseela comes face-to-face with one of the most venomous snakes in India.

[edit] The Lengend of Charan Kanya

Raseela must dart an injured lioness before her maggot infected wound turns fatal. But there is a big problem. The lioness is hiding behind a thicket of bushes. Raseela can't get a clear view to fire the dart.
