[edit] Information

This is the untold story of the hidden victims of the war in Afghanistan: the women whose husbands were killed in the fight against the Taliban. For Our World, Afghan journalist Zarghuna Kargar gains extraordinary access to the lives of four widows. From those living in abject poverty weaving carpets in Northern Afghanistan, to the wife of a high ranking military officer in Kabul, they each tell of their love, loss and hopes for the future. But in conservative Afghan society, without a husband, they are left almost powerless.
