The Zoo: Series 1 Dublin Zoo This exciting 6 part series gives and incredible behind the scenes glimpse into the daily lives of the zookeepers and the exotic animals they care for at Dublin Zoo. There s never a dull moment, from births and animal husbandry to tension filled emergency procedures and each episode is packed with drama and excitement. Follow all of the animals amazing stories, from the little Sumatran tiger cub with a weak heart to the dramatic events of a year in the life of Dublin Zoo s giraffe and rhinoceros herds, not to mention a whole host of other animals including elephants, gorillas, crocodiles, chameleons, lemurs, macaques and many more!

A pair of endangered Sumatran tiger cubs are introduced to Dublin Zoo, but concerns grow when the female does not appear to settle down as well as her brother

Mayani the gorilla is paid a visit by a dentist after suffering discomfort with her teeth, and a giraffe's life hangs in the balance after an adverse reaction to anaesthetic

A female Sumatran tiger cub's progress on a course of physiotherapy is monitored, while the others get used to their surroundings before they get to meet the public for the first time. Plus, Dublin Zoo celebrates its first wedding ceremony when John Clarke and Noreen Walls marry in Haughton House

After being collected from Somerset, a large male Sulawesi crested macaque is introduced to Dublin Zoo's all-female troop, and the keepers watch to see if he will be accepted

Reptile keeper Gareth de Jong explains his love of the creatures, which has survived several bites by Burmese pythons and Nile crocodiles, while vets review a tiger cub's health

The female Sumatran tiger cub returns for further tests and an appointment with a cardio-specialist. Plus, the keepers wait for the zoo's oldest female giraffe to give birth after a 15-month pregnancy
