Getting High for God? In this two-part immersive documentary series, Mawaan Rizwan sets out to discover whether powerful hallucinogenic drugs used by some religions really can bring you close to God.

[edit] Trip to the Mountains

Mawaan Rizwan travels to Utah to spend time with the Oklevueha Native American Church. People from across the USA come here to use the Class A drug Peyote seeking religious enlightenment.
Is the whole thing is just an excuse to get high in the mountains, or can the medicine man really can help him unlock a link to the spirit world?

[edit] Ayahuasca in Rio

Mawaan Rizwan travels to Rio, Brazil, to join the congregation that uses the ancient Amazonian hallucinogenic substance Ayahuasca in their Church services.
He sees first hand if this ancient medicine – which has been linked to deaths when used unsupervised - can bring him closer to the Almighty.
