Bugs. They outnumber us by 200,000,000 to 1 and they are likely to survive after us. In their diversity, insects and their relatives have evolved a variety of weapons and killing skills unmatched in the animal kingdom.

Few creatures on earth are more dreaded. Without legs, the killer hunts earth, and water, and treetops alike, relentlessly pursuing its many prey, even its own kind. Some canningly camouflaged, some announcing their venom with colors. Beautiful, deadly and tragically misunderstood, the snakes endure among us inhabiting almost every part of the planet. They are great survivors perfectly designed for the hunt. Almost 3000 species of snakes crawl the earth, predators of a world usually hidden from our eyes. But in our myths, they loom as large as they are for their real prey.

They are the super predators, the top links in the ocean's food chain. More than 350 species of sharks prawl the seas. Most are quite large but some are small. Many are harmless but some are deadly. We'll meet more than a dozen of them as we explore the beautiful and dangerous world of these rulers of the deep.

They are efficient and they are lethal and for thousands of years they have been both competitors and companions of our kind. 35 species of wild canines were on the globe. We will meet three of the most elegant and deadly, as we journey from the mountains of North America to the plains of East Africa to explore the intriguing world of the wild dogs

They are gracefull predators with a passionate taste for meat. Africa's big cats are masters of ambuse, champions of the sneak attack. Across the great savana three species hunt the same prey. The cheetah, the leopard and the lion have similar tastes but each kills in their own way. The cats must not only hunt for themselves. They must also protect and take care of their young, and teach them the skills of a hunter. Each day, these cats must fight to survive, fight with tooth and claw.

They outlived their dinosaur cousins to terrorise the modern age. A family of cold blooded killers, masters of the watery ambuse. The oldest reptiles on earth, the crocodilians date their hunting success back to the dawn of the dragons

The world below: Alien, Untaned and for the most part , unexplored. From the soundless depth of the ocean the first predators emerge, animals that have to kill to stay alive. The fight for survival which all species face, took a brutal, deadly term in the dangerous sea.

The natural world is full of hunters. It is a world of the quick and the dead . Savage and mercyless, nature seeks their bloody balance. Predator and prey are the eternal players in a game with the highest price of all, nature's deadly game.
