[edit] Information

The Red Imported Fire Ant is an alien invader, spreading like a plague through the south-eastern USA. Humankind seems helpless in the face of its advance, as it destroys crops, damages electrical and mechanical equipment, and terrorises animals and people with a painful, burning sting. But a fighting spirit prevails in the south and the people have declared war on the fire ant with weapons ranging from chemical to biological. With both sides suffering heavy casualties, it's impossible to say who will eventually win out. Could this be the most hated insect in the world? The Ant That Ate America reveals that human emotions are running high, as the fire ant marches relentlessly forward.
