[edit] Information

One of the last people to escape the Deepwater Horizon oil drilling rig explosion, Mike Williams, tells Scott Pelley that the job had been plagued with problems - a series of serious mishaps that led to the massive explosion. Eleven crew members died in the inferno and the gusher it unleashed - likely the worst ever - continues to spew crude oil months later. In this segment, Mr. Williams talks about his harrowing escape and what happened after he got off the burning rig; he also relates in elaborate detail the key decisions - or fatal mistakes - that almost certainly led to the disaster. Later, a whistle-blower tells the news show that BP has another troubled oil rig in the Gulf that could make the oil spill from the Deepwater Horizon look like a mere bubble.
