[edit] Information

The Doors' album Morrison Hotel is considered by many to be one of the greatest resurrection albums of all time. After the more experimental previous album "The Soft Parade", the band returned to their roots and released an album in 1970 that sold more than a million copies in less than three days. The band's turbulent journey to the creation of Morrison Hotel was arduous at best, years in the making, and central to the story of The Doors. The documentary lets the band members have their say: guitarist Robby Krieger, drummer John Densmore, keyboardist Ray Manzarek and sound engineer Bruce Botnick talk about how they went into soul-searching together as a band and decided to revive The Doors and start all over again. Legendary photographer Henry Diltz joins in to tell the story of the album's iconic artwork. The album was an artistic comeback with a powerful collection of songs that ran together with frightening force making Morrison Hotel a Classic Album in every sense of the word. Particularly characteristic of the album is the unmistakable and iconic guitar lick from "Roadhouse Blues".
