[edit] Information

Wanted in Paradise Families considering a permanent move to somewhere exotic are given a taste of what it's really like to move to a country very different from the UK.

[edit] Cayman

Paula Davis has cherished a dream to move to the Cayman Islands for years. But having recently re-married, she now has to persuade her new husband Jason to come with her. They both have strong family ties to the UK - especially Jason, whose doting mum would miss him terribly. They're putting a new life in Grand Cayman to the test for a trial week, finding potential new jobs, homes and friends. Even if they find they are wanted in paradise, will it be enough to overcome the massive heartache of leaving loved ones behind?

[edit] Seychelles

After years in the navy and travelling the world with work, Ian Burkinshaw wants to move to the sun permanently, but his wife Emma is not so keen. She has never really left her Yorkshire home and loves the village life they currently have, close to both their families and friends. Will a week putting a new life to the test in the Seychelles persuade her to abandon all that for a move to paradise?

[edit] Barbados

Alan Springer has been yearning to return to his native paradise for fifty years. But Alan's British wife Amanda has huge emotional ties at home in London, with key responsibilities for her elderly mother. For their teenage son Sekani, leaving his lifelong pals and young nephew would mean massive sacrifices too. During a week-long trial in Alan's Caribbean homeland, Barbados, can he convince Amanda and Sekani that a new life on a tropical island is worth the heartache?

[edit] Phuket

Commercial diver Alex Summers wants to abandon the Glasgow climate with his partner Jane and young baby for a new life in Thailand. He and his family are used to him being away for long stretches of time, but for Jane it's a different story. She's never left her native Glasgow and would miss her sisters terribly if they were to make the move. Will a week putting a new life on the island of Phuket to the test persuade her to make the move?

[edit] Costa Rica

Steve and Stef Jackson are swapping careers in construction for a week-long taste of paradise. But will trading life in their Loughborough semi for a smallholding in tropical Costa Rica live up to the family's expectations? For Stef's teenage daughter Katia, will the lure of a life in the rainforest prove tempting enough to give up her friends, family and future life at university? After a week of trials and tribulations, will the Jacksons find that they are Wanted in Paradise?

[edit] Tortola

Father of three Fraser McGruer wants to move to paradise, but his Brazilian wife Karina isn't so sure. During a week-long trial, can Fraser convince Karina that a tropical climate, outdoor lifestyle and new opportunities are worth abandoning their close friends, family and much-loved home for? Swapping chilly Hertfordshire for the sunnier climes of the Caribbean may tempt them, but leaving the UK would mean breaking Fraser's mum's heart. They may be Wanted in Paradise, but will they be prepared to leave loved ones behind?

[edit] Mauritius

Faizan Zuberi dreams of running a kite-surfing school in Mauritius. It would mean a fresh start, living together as a family with his partner Julia and their two small boys. Currently, Faizan spends all week working away in the city to support his family in Somerset, where they live near Julia's helpful mum.
But is the dream realistic, and can Faizan persuade Julia to make the move 6,000 miles away from home, friends and family? After a week of ups and downs, will they find themselves Wanted in Paradise?

[edit] Khanom

Andrew wants to escape the rat race and open a bed and breakfast in a little-known part of Thailand. He's desperate to open a business he has no experience of, in a country he's never been to, and his partner Matt is far from convinced. A week in Thailand trialling the life they could have puts them both to the test - and gives them a lot of things to consider. In the end, is the dream realistic, and could they give everything up back home in the UK to start a new life in paradise?
