[edit] Information

The spectacular landscapes of Scandinavia are our backdrop and the players are the iconic creatures of the region: wolverines, brown bears, arctic foxes, puffins, reindeer, whales and the list goes on Wild Nordic. The show brings viewers a new look at Scandinavia - once home to the infamous Vikings, and still a land of vast coastlines, soaring mountains, daring adventurers, ancient civilizations and lush forests. The series reveals a huge, frozen wilderness characterized by a unique wildlife, ancient traditions and a fight against incredibly harsh winters. The famous wilderness in Norway, Finland and Sweden is shown from the skies, just as the Viking gods saw it. Where the time stands still. Winter is a season of waiting for Scandinavian animals: the wait for the sun, the wait for the food to be plentiful again, and the wait for the spring to melt the frozen landscape. Before this can happen, the animals must carefully guard their resources if they are to survive the hot summer months. Surviving in the North requires adaptation and specialization. Wild animals are wary and hide skillfully. Animals have been hunted from generation to generation and have learned to avoid humans. In this series, we explore the legendary wilderness in Norway, Finland and Sweden from the air. We get to follow and see how the landscapes are transformed from the colors of autumn into a sparkling white fairyland.
