[edit] Information

Tells the story of the brave men of the famed 1st Marine Division - the oldest, largest and most decorated division of the US Marine Corps. Narrated by actor Jon Seda, it recounts the role of the 1st Marine Division in the United States' first major offensive in the Pacific theatre during the Second World War. In 1942, on the Pacific island of Guadalcanal, Americans faced and defeated the Japanese for the first time in a land battle. The fight was one of the most brutal of the war. The Division went on to fight bloody battles in Cape Gloucester and Peleliu, but their decisive victory at Guadalcanal was one of the turning points of WW2 for the Allied powers.
