[edit] Information

"'A Hole in the Head' examines the controversial practice of trepanation, which is the process of boring a hole in one's skull for the purpose of reaching a higher level of consciousness. Very popular during the 1960's and 1970's, many people particularly in the United States, the UK and Netherlands still attempt it today. 'A Hole in the Head' interviews those who have abdicated this unusual procedure which the medical community condemns. Many have successfully performed the procedure themselves, and proclaim incredible results such as heightened intelligence. We also learn of the many famous celebrities such as John Lennon and Timothy Leary, who seriously considered undergoing the procedure."
