[edit] Information

Alex Polizzi’s Secret Italy Alex Polizzi embarks on a voyage of discovery back to her roots, taking in the colourful regions of Italy, from the cities and lakes of the North to the unmistakeably Mediterranean South. Alex’s journey will see her revisiting some of her fondest memories, from her honeymoon tour, to the humble hillside village that her grandfather came from and Rome, the city that she lived in during her twenties. Along the way she will also uncover some of Italy’s hidden treasures, discovering regions that she knows little about, meeting unique characters and immersing herself in the culture of this great country.

[edit] Venice

Alex's journey begins in Venice, exploring secrets of a city she knows well. From Venice, Alex will spend time in a hidden gem nestled among the Lombard Alps, before rounding up her Northern adventure in achingly cool Milan.

[edit] Le Marche

Alex continues her journey in central Italy, where she will uncover the secrets of the Le Marche region. She will discover a local seafood delicacy and unleash the credit card with the designer of one of Italy's leading shoe brands.

[edit] Naples

Alex is immersing herself in the chaos of Naples in the shadow of Vesuvius. She then heads to the Amalfi coast, where she visits the prestigious Villa Cimbrone and samples the authentic cuisine of Ravello's celebrity cook, Mamma Agata.

[edit] Puglia

The final leg of Alex's journey reaches a fitting crescendo in the secret south, a region that Alex knows little about. Puglia, one of the most rural regions welcomes Alex first with a tour of its curious beehive shaped Trulli and a wine with a difference
