It costs the UK economy nearly two billion pounds a year to control invasive 'non-native' creatures. While some foreign species are harmless, others pose a real threat to British biodiversity. Alex Beresford investigates the thousands of `alien' plants and animals that have ended up in Britain, learning that huge sums are spent in an effort to control or eradicate them.
