[edit] Information

Highlights from the opening leg of the America's Cup World Series, in which four-time Olympic sailing champion Sir Ben Ainslie began his attempt to guide a British team to one of the most prestigious trophies in sport. Ainslie masterminded a spectacular comeback for the American-backed Team Oracle in the 2013 America's Cup. He has since set up Ben Ainslie Racing in Portsmouth, which hosted this first preliminary event in the battle to face the reigning champions in Bermuda in 2017. Ben Ainslie Racing was one of five teams in action, with others coming from Sweden, France, Japan and New Zealand, watched by an estimated half a million spectators.
