Having produced more than a thousand films and fostered some of the most influential filmmakers and superstars, the Shaw Brothers studio played an indisputably crucial part in laying the foundation of Hong Kong Cinema. This 3-part series takes a look behind the scenes of this movie kingdom, each part focusing on one of the film genres the studio was best known for - kung fu action, swordplay drama, and costume drama and musicals. The series features rare archival footage and exclusive interviews with a host of Hong Kong film titans, including Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Sammo Hung, Gordon Liu, John Woo, Chor Yuen, Lau Ka Leung, David Chiang, Kara Hui, Cheng Pei Pei, Ivy Ling Po, and the man behind the legend - Sir Run Run Shaw.
