CLASSIC BRITISH AIRCRAFT will explore the history, successes, failures and current uses of both civilian and military aircraft, such as the VC10 (the fastest airliner in the world after the demise of Concorde), the Trident, the Lightning (which still holds climbing records that may never be broken) and the Sea Vixen. Accompany mechanics who piece together these items of living history, trawling the world for obscure parts. Learn from craftsmen who have rediscovered lost skills, and meet some of the airmen who operated the aircraft in their heyday, as well as current pilots who have the responsibility of handling these irreplaceable machines.
