[edit] Information

Ravi Sagoo and Harpz Kaur present highlights from the 2022 Glasgow Mela. Featuring South Asian arts and culture, with music from bhangra stars Deesh Sandhu, HunterZ and headliner Jaz Dhami. A special collaboration between the SSO and Asian artists offers a mix of east meets west with An Indian Octet, a new commissioned piece by conductor Andy Duncan. Ravi heads to the Tramway on Glasgow's southside, where the first Glasgow Mela took place over 30 years ago to coincide with Glasgow being the European City of Culture. Ravi and Harpz chat to some of the stars of this year’s festival, soaking up the atmosphere and tastes from the food stalls and learning some bhangra dance moves from the Apna Punjabi Virsa Bhangra troupe.
