Seydou Kane crafts a new kora from scratch in his studio in downtown Dakar, Senegal, an instrument also known as a West African lute or harp that dates back to the 13th century.

Following master beadmaker Jane Semanto in her Nairobi studio as she crafts a traditional Maasai wedding necklace, which is of great ceremonial significance.
