[edit] Information

Life After Suicide How do you make sense of suicide? It’s the largest killer of men under 50 in the UK, yet it’s something many people are still scared to talk about. That’s something Angela Samata wants to change. Having lost her own partner, Mark, 11 years ago, she’s certain that talking about his death – including explaining it to her two sons – has helped her process her own grief, and rebuild her own life. It’s a painfully moving documentary. We meet a support group all going through different stages of loss; the scientists trying to work out what leads someone to decide that suicide is their only option; and people like Downton Abbey actor David Robb, whose wife Briony killed herself in 2013. “She just walked out of my life… very difficult, very difficult,” he says, Angela also meets a Somerset farmer and his five young daughters, and a Norfolk woman who is living with the suicides of both her husband and son.
