In 2007, a German paraglider is sucked into a massive thunderstorm above the western plains of New South Wales. Soaring as high as a jumbo jet, she somehow survives the freezing temperatures, low oxygen and a death defying descent back to earth.

In 2008, an Australian backpacker goes missing during one of South-East Asia’s most deadly monsoons. Lost in the Laotian jungle, he is consumed by creeping infections, hypothermia and blood poisoning. But 11 days later he is found alive, thanks to a chain of miraculous events.
