[edit] Information

Produced by National Geographic Television

Tiny, tenacious and sometimes terrible, meerkats are highly social animals that can also display great tenderness. "All for one and one for all" seems to be the motto for these co-operative groups of tiny warriors living throughout the African continent. Small and vulnerable, they make their way by working together, rarely taking on danger alone.

Scientists in South Africa have gained the trust of a group of meerkats, following these cousins of the mongoose to study their elaborate behaviour patterns. In East Africa, biologists have a murder mystery on their hands as they research a group of banded mongoose.
