[edit] Information

Murder in Paradise A Thai police chief tells the Murder in Paradise team: “We are not the best police in the world, but we try to do our best.” He sounds like he’s damning his own force with faint praise, but the police investigation into the murders of British backpackers Hannah Witheridge and David Miller on the supposed paradise island of Koh Tao has been beset by allegations of ineptitude and brutality. Hannah and David’s bodies were found early on 15 September 2014. They had suffered brutal injuries from a heavily bloodstained garden hoe. The police swiftly arrested two men from Koh Tao’s Burmese migrant community, and charged them with rape and murder. The programme-makers talk to human rights workers and DNA experts who throw doubt on the prosecution case (the men were found guilty and condemned to death) and hears from the parents of other British backpackers who have died mysteriously on the island.
