[edit] Information

Addressing issues of equity, waste, and the environment, this film focuses on the struggle of Yi Jie, a young girl who lives in a Chinese plastic-sorting town. Recycled waste from Europe, the United States and other parts of Asia winds up here, where families live among the plastic they sort for work. Yi Jie spends her days caring for her siblings, sorting plastic, and searching for hidden treasures among the trash. Her parents discuss their hopes for the future, but family problems stand in the way.
