Through innovative camera technology, this program takes viewers inside the space shuttle. Remote cameras installed at Kennedy Space Center and aboard the craft itself reveal firsthand the technology symphony required to heave 4.5 million pounds of rocketship into the stratosphere. We're brought inside the massive Saturn V hanger, large enough to house a skyscraper. Go from the fiery engine-and-propulsion systems preceding orbit, to the utter serenity of astronauts floating silently and safely in the weightless environment of space.

Rocketships takes an eye-opening glimpse back to the origins of rocket science, and then forward to the cutting edge technology of reusable rockets and shuttles. Then using state-of-the-art computer animation, we set our sights on a galaxy far, far away, and discover where Rocketships will take us in the next century and beyond.
