Rogue State A referendum on Catalan independence, which the Spanish government deemed illegal, ended with voting civilians being beaten by riot police. With history unfolding around them, young people in Barcelona are taking to the streets to express their hopes and fears for the future. Some want to see the creation a whole new country, while others remain loyal to Spain.
