[edit] Information

[edit] Chapter 1:

Featuring news stories, fads, fashions and essential items of the decade. The programme covers everything from Marc Bolan and David Bowie establishing the new era of glam rock to kids obsessing over toys and transport like Clackers, Choppers and the space hoppers.

[edit] Chapter 2:

From the red, white and blue street parties of the Silver Jubilee and the explosion of punk, to kids' essential viewing Grange Hill, and the birth of Saturday morning TV with Multi-Coloured Swap Shop, '70s life was a kaleidoscope of colour. Inflation meant the drive to Buy British was in full force, the wearing of seat belts was encouraged though not enforced, Mary Whitehouse went to war with the Permissive Society and the first flush of populist feminism saw women make a stand for their rights.
