[edit] Information

This is SBS try at slow tv with the Ghan here without, voice over, music, and no breaks – just uninterrupted, real- time footage of The Ghan, the stunning landscapes of the Australian outback and the calming sounds of the train and the crew’s small talk. With graphics and facts popping up on the landscape during the broadcast, audiences learned the story of the 2979km Ghan train line’s construction and the Aboriginal history of Australia where text overlays point out landmarks such as Adelaide Gaol and Darwin’s Chinatown, and told the stories of Australia’s first mosque, built by the tracks near Marree in the 1860s, and Port Pirie’s short-lived Mussolini-inspired fascist group, founded by Italian residents in the 1920s.There are two versions a 3hr and 17hr full.
