[edit] Information

A look at the complex story of the 1996 murders of Lin Russell and her six-year-old daughter Megan as they walked home from school in Chillenden, Kent, a brutal crime that shocked the nation. Despite a lack of forensic evidence, Michael Stone was convicted, and the verdict was upheld at a 2001 re-trial, but in 2022 convicted killer Levi Bellfield reportedly claimed responsibility for the murders, prompting more questions about Stone's guilt. Featuring testimony from experts in policing, forensics and criminology, as wel as people who worked and reported on the case, this documentary tells the story of one of the most controversial and tragic criminal cases that Britain has ever witnessed.
