Starting at the head of this great river, follow the path of the Mississippi to find hungry wolves, freezing bobcats, warring bald eagles, hapless porcupines and phantom owls.

As spring breaks along the Mississippi, melting snow and ice create an epic flood. The high water washes beavers and birds out of their homes, leaving them vulnerable to a host of forest predators.

Heading south, the Mississippi joins with an even more flooded Ohio River to form a union of destruction, challenging man and wildlife as the water rises at a rate of two inches every hour.
