Earning the "yellow border" is one of the most highly-prized accomplishments in photojournalism. Yet even among these striking images, there are some that stand out as instant icons for our times and our world. What really sets these photos apart are the stories behind them. National Geographic's Most Incredible Photos reveals the memorable, behind-the-scenes stories of the best of the best photos from National Geographic magazine. In this episode in a country scarred by decades of war, one man tries to capture an image of hope. National Geographic photographer Reza journeys to Afghanistan to seek a portrait of a nation... and come face to face with a people on the edge of an uncertain future. Few journalists have come as close to the wars in Afghanistan as Reza, whose photos are a chronicle more than two decades of fighting.
