[edit] Information

A story of savagery, brilliance, mystery and splendour told through the eyes of archaeologists excavating the newly discovered Moche tombs. Beneath a pyramid in northern Peru, one of the most mysterious cultures in the ancient world buried their dead. For over 1000 years these bones have lain undisturbed. These artifacts reveal an extrodinary thread of tradition. The ancient healing rights of today's shamen and healers have their routes in forgotten rituals of blood and sacrifice. Only now, are acheologists beginning to piece together scattered clues. They tell a story of violence and superstition. Tombs belonging to one of America’s most ancient civilisations, the Moche, reveal 2,000-year-old human remains and hold clues to unsolved mysteries. Directed by Steven R. Talley Produced by Natural History New Zealand Limited and Banda Productions in association with TLC
